The refurbishment of a former sawmill transformed into a food court in London's Pimlico neighbourhood is characterized by a thoughtfully crafted design scheme.
The lighting concept is structured into three layers: first, functional lighting is achieved through high-level spotlights seamlessly integrated into the metal structure, providing uniform general brightness. Second, large bespoke decorative pendants and wall lights, in harmony with the industrial style of the building, emit a warm glow, contributing to the overall ambience. Finally, warm signage grazers add a touch of character.
The overarching goal of the lighting scheme is to preserve the authentic look of the sawmill while infusing modern hospitality spaces with flexibility and brightness. This approach ensures a seamless blend of the historical charm of the building with the contemporary needs of a vibrant food court.
